		<description>It is true. Midazolam for the agitated patient. We have to actually assess the cause of the agitation first though and treat that as necessary (and as possible). We dont just go giving all agitated people Midaz. It also does not apply for people who have been recommended for transport under the mental health act either.  
It has recently become commonplace for Paramedics in Australia (I am in Vicitoria, so I can only comment on our protocols) to be sent to agitated patients who may be of harm to themselves or others, as it is considered a mental health issue, rather than a criminal issue (this is where the decision comes in between calling police or ambulance first).  </description>
